Impala Recall Launched By General Motors
Where Do You Live?
GM has started an Impala recall. Possible seat belt defects are the trigger of the 300,000 car recall. A crash might cause improperly attached seat belts to come apart. You will find only two model years affected. GM will contact the owners.
Huge Impala recall
Over 300,000 automobiles are going to have to be repaired by General Motors with the Impala recall which has a seat belt deficiency. The problem is found in two of the Chevrolet Impala model years. This is what USA Today explains. Owners of a Chevrolet Impala from the 2009 or 2010 model years should contact their nearest Chevrolet dealership or General Motors directly. The phone number owners can call to get data on the Impala recall is 800-630-2438. Owners of the automobiles will be getting notices from General Motors and dealerships about the recall. Owners of the recalled automobiles won’t have to pay anything for the defective seatbelt that is easy to fix.
Defect in seat belts results in a recall of cars
A division of General Motors is there specifically to make sure that nobody is hurt or killed before these issues are caught. Thankfully, no injuries or deaths have occurred because of the seat belt deficiency, according to CNN. The front seat belts are defective in the Chevy Impala. The lap belt pretensioner is designed to have the belts security anchored into it. This does not seem to be the case. The danger is that in a crash, the belt can become separated from the mounting for the front passengers.
Regular maintenance get a lucky break
There started to be a lot of warranty repairs on seat belts. This brought on General Motors to investigate the situation. By June 2009, there had been 9 grievances over it. The recall begun as a precaution after 32 complaints had come in by August 2010. Reports of injury did not come in. There weren’t reports of death either. Owners should receive notifications for a needed inspection by the end of Oct.
