With most people watching their purse strings during the festive period, the car market usually experiences a quiet period. However, brilliant bargains can be acquired by the savviest of customers.
Amidst the festivities, whilst many potential buyers take their eye off the ball, it is possible to grab a bargain with many cars at a lower than average price. Understandably, many Christmas revellers will be skint during this time of year, with many suffering from the after effects of Christmas shopping and having a festive tipple down the pub. Many dealers will have already hit their targets for the year while other will be desperate to shift cars to ensure they get a Christmas bonus. The fact is, a number of salesmen will be chasing theri monthly target in the two weeks in the lead-up to Christmas. Many dealerships could be dependent on a busy December to meet a quarterly target after quiet months in October and November. Car sales are usually slow during December, so dealers can afford to let some cars go for a knock down price. Customers can swoop in and be a great position to haggle with dealerships.
